Ceylon Gateway (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates celyon-gateway.site and arranges tours, transport and accommodation in Sri Lanka. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
Information we collect
When you request a quote, make a booking or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, travel dates, number of travellers, destinations of interest, and any preferences or requirements you tell us about — including dietary needs, mobility requirements or health information you choose to share so that we can plan your trip safely.
To confirm hotel and safari bookings we may also need passport details (full name, number, nationality and date of birth), as Sri Lankan accommodation providers are required to record them.
When you use this website we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you view and the site you arrived from.
How we use it
We use your information to prepare quotes and itineraries, to make reservations with hotels, drivers, guides and activity operators on your behalf, to communicate with you before and during your trip, to handle payments, and to meet legal and tax obligations in Sri Lanka. If you have opted in, we may also send you occasional travel offers — you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only with parties involved in delivering your trip: hotels and guesthouses, chauffeur guides and transport providers, safari and activity operators, and our payment processor. We also share information where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Some of these providers are outside your home country, including in Sri Lanka. Where your information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled securely.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for seven years to meet accounting and tax requirements. Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted after 24 months. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask us to provide a copy of the information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, delete your information where we are not legally required to keep it, or stop using it for marketing. Email ceylongateway@outlook.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data protection laws, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information and limit access to those who need it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take the responsibility seriously.

Children
Our services are not directed at children under 16. We collect children’s details only as part of a family booking made by a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its date at the top.
